Afrika Holding

Africa, the Continent of Opportunities

Due to the global economic crisis and the diminishing perspectives of western markets and trade relations, the attention paid to Africa is increasing. Beside European and overseas actors, countries of the Far East also began to explore the continent. Considering the scale of investments and developmental funds contributed, China is ahead in this race, further expanding its relations. In this increased competition the European Union is trying to regain its decisive role to preserve its influence in the region by the means of investments and developmental aids. Through various funds (EDF, DFID, etc.) EU Member States are spending tens of billions of Euros on projects related to establishing infrastructure in Africa, exploiting renewable energy sources, environmental protection, healthcare, consultancy on safety policy, or providing aids. But where are we, Hungarians, and what could be our role in Africa?

To answer briefly, we are at the beginning of a great and significant process. At present, only a negligible amount of EU funds are accessed by Hungarian companies, for developing and promoting their activities in Africa. Even though Hungary is a net contributor to the European Developmental Fund (EDF) since 2008, access to the Fund is complicated for Hungarian companies due to the lack of information, relations and representation. Therefore, a huge part of the available sources supporting investments is obtained by western European companies.

Africa Holding aspires to change this situation.

Methodically and effectively.

The Role of Afrika Holding in Business Opportunities of Hungarian Companies and Entrepreneurs

By offering its experiences gained on the ‘Black Continent’, and its local relations, representations, Afrika Holding is able to provide up-to-date information and advices for European and Hungarian companies or small and medium sized enterprises seeking for business and investment opportunities on the continent.
